* Man trapped by entrance gate dies
A man who died after an incident in which he is thought to have been trapped by a gate has been named as Ronald Hayward.
The 42-year-old from Merthyr Tydfil died during a delivery to a depot in Newport which involved "the movement of heavy gates" on Wednesday, police said.
Gwent Police is leading an investigation with the Health and Safety Executive and Newport Council.
Wholesalers Blakemore said it was helping with the enquiries.
The incident happened at a trade entrance to the wholesalers in Agincourt Street, where a metal gate was seen lying on the floor on Wednesday morning.
Specialist officers were checking the gate's posts and surrounding area.
Family supported
Emergency crews were called to the depot at 05:00 BST on Wednesday.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: "A delivery was in the process of being made to a premises on Agincourt Street.
"During the course of the delivery, which involved the movement of heavy gates, an incident occurred which resulted in the death of a male at the location."
The spokesperson said the man's family have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained police officers.
The Health and Safety Executive said they were aware of the incident and were making initial enquiries.
A spokesperson for AF Blakemore said: "We are currently assisting the authorities on their investigation of an incident that occurred at our Newport depot this morning.
"We would however like to take this opportunity to offer our condolences to the family of the individual concerned."
