Plans for one of Wales' first "super-schools" for children from three to 19 are a step closer.
Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Ffynnonbedr and Ysgol Gyfun Gymunedol in Lampeter have been working together in a pilot scheme, but it could be made permanent.
Ceredigion Council discussed the issue on Tuesday and said a final decision could be made on 13 December.
But if the authority receives any objections it will be referred to the Welsh government.
The pilot schem is part of an ongoing shake-up of education in Ceredigion.
The idea is to educate primary and secondary pupils under one head teacher in separate buildings in Lampeter, but they could share some resources.
