Usually they do line dances and such like the Cha Cha Slide, Booty Call, Electric Slide, Macarena, Cotton Eyed Joe, YMCA, and others of that caliber. These are usually easy to pick up at the dance and move in a circle. Most of them consist of a combination of steps, hops, and claps moving from one direction to another. But if you need help, ask a friend, sibling (especially a sister), or even your mom-like figure (chances are she's been to a wedding or two in which these dances were performed.) Usually at a school dance nobody really dances like in the movies. They just bob up and down in time with the music. Slow dancing is simply stepping back and forth with a partner in your arms. Put hold her right hand with your left hand and place your right hand on her back (too high and you're saying "You remind me of my little sister" and too low: you're saying you'd rather be in her pants than in her arms and even if that's where you'd rather be you shouldn't let her know that!)
